Your hood

So how many of you out there know more than 2 or 3 separate households in your neighborhood? Do you live in a place where you feel that the general personality of the place matches yours? If not do you have a neighborhood in your town like that?

Just curios. THis whole tribe started with the idea of making grand plans to change the world and I still like the ideas that have been brought up but if we can implement them at a Micro instead of a macro level then it might get past the dreaming stages. I am finally in a neighborhood where I might be able to motivate enough of the neighbors to get involved in something like this.

    My neighbors are all types.

I'm usually too philosophical to actually act on anything, sorry Andy. Apathy is a Bay Area epidemic.

Yeah I can't say much about my record up to this point but the way that I see it nothing is going to get better anytime soon with the idiots we have in DC. So we will have to do it ourselves. The Republicans don't want to do it and even if Dems get in they will find a way to screw it up.

You may get more active eventually George. I became alot more driven to this when my daughter was born. King George in office helped alot too. Maybe the best thing for the left wing woudl be if dumbass is re-elected. Look how much more active we (and actually I am pretty much a libertarian a little to the left) have been since he has been in there screwing things up. Of course by the time we get a chance to get someone good in there we will have 2 more Scalias on the Supreme Court.

      Peace.

Maybe so. When you are living well, you don't get very upset about things. When it comes down to it, quality of life is more important than morality for most humans, I think. When I was living poor, I was driven. As I've become better fed, having a better social life, and such, I've cared about real issues less and less.

I've also learned some reasons why the government behaves as it does, and it has shown me that it is a systemic issue more than anything. The American government is a reflection of the American people.

Between those big reasons, I've become pacified. I used to really care and do daring things. Today, well, I'm everything I used to hate. Funny how life goes.

Like an episode of 30 Something. Scary how that annoying show nailed it. I don't think that mine is all driven by civic duty. I also like to make and create things and my dayjob is working as an application analyst for a software company. Good company and good people but a very boring job. It's like I do algebra all day long.

Find something that you would really like to do and put in the time to get the right education. I would nee dot go back to school to do anything else and i really don't have time in the next few years. This is OK for now but doesn't really feed the soul if ya know what I mean.

I just work to feed myself. I do stuff outside to feed my soul. Just as I sleep 8 hours a day, I work 8.
